Outstanding Performance Award
The Outstanding Performance Award, or the "OPA," is the most prestigious award given by the South Carolina Band Directors Association. This award recognizes bands achieving at the highest levels of performance across the state. In the Junior Division (middle school) a band must earn a minimum of 45 out of 50 possible points. Bands earn points by seating members in the SCBDA Region and All State Bands, earning Excellent or Superior Ratings at Concert Performance Assessment, and earning Superiors at Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment. This is the fourth year in school history that Belton Middle School has earned this award and the first time we’ve earned this award since the return from Covid.
