Today, Ms. Anderson's students commemorated the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 by looking beyond the historical events of that day and focusing on the character of the people who lived through them.

Students analyzed primary sources from the period and searched for real examples of our Warrior PRIDE values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, and Empathy. They discovered these qualities in first responders who ran toward danger, survi

vors who refused to give up, ordinary people who helped strangers, and communities that came together in the face of unimaginable loss.

The goal was not simply to learn about history, but to connect history to who we choose to be today. The heroes of 9/11 remind us that leaving a lasting impact on the world does not always require fame or recognition. Sometimes, it is found in courage, compassion, sacrifice, doing what is right, and helping the person beside you.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost, honor those who served and sacrificed, and recognize the everyday heroes whose actions continue to teach us what character looks like.

During Warrior Time, Mrs. Poore’s class reviewed adding and subtracting decimals with a fun, real-world activity! Students used the Decimal Diner menu to move around the classroom and solve real-world problems using their decimal addition and subtraction skills.

It was a great way for students to practice their math skills while seeing how decimals are used in everyday life!

Writing Like a Mesopotamian!

Ms. Anderson’s World History students traveled back more than 5,000 years to experience one of Mesopotamia’s greatest achievements..cuneiform, one of the world’s earliest systems of writing!

After learning how ancient Sumerian scribes used wedge-shaped symbols to record everything from trade and laws to stories and everyday life, our students put their own scribe skills to the test. Using cuneiform symbols, they practiced communicating the way people did in the world’s first cities.
